AFRIMUHERE is seeking students and young people interested in working online and/or in the African Museums and Heritage Restitution network for recruiting new members from African museums and heritage communities for the restitution of African natural and cultural artifacts to the continent, developing our website, social networks, communicating about AFRIMUHERE, and participating in projects, meetings, events and actions of AFRIMUHERE and partners.
Useful skills include : Excellent written and oral communication skills, fluency in English, French, Arabic, Portuguese, Swahili, and/or other African languages, mastery of IT skills, graphic design, web and social media. Required : Interest and studies in African tangible/intangible heritage, art, culture, museums, political ecology and/or international law and commitment to contribute to the restitution movement.
Unpaid Internships or minimum University stipend, For-Credit internships, Short-term Stipend Positions Fall/Winter 2024-Spring/Summer 2025.
Possible placement in HQ in Nairobi, in network (Abidjan, Gabarone, Harare, Livingstone, Rabat…) and/or Diaspora/Friends Hubs (London, Paris, Berlin…).
